Back in the Grind
That back to school feeling, styled by Nikki Kule
Now that we’re back from vacation, it feels like we went from high summer to true fall with the flip of a switch. I’m always excited to see how Nikki is going to style the new season. She consistently believes in never doing head-to-toe one brand; she mixes KULE with her unique collection of special pieces, creating outfits that feel both fresh and personal. As it starts to get a little cooler, it’s time to start filling the gaps in your wardrobe or discovering a great piece or two to get excited about. And so, I look to Nikki to start me off, because the best dressers are always one step ahead. Consider this your cue to start planning!
Look 1: New Stripe
Hi 👋 Nikki here. Every season, I design a new striped tee (or two). This season, I’m especially into this navy and brown wide stripe—it’s one of my favorite color combos and layers perfectly with neutrals. I never dress in one brand head-to-toe (not even mine!). I’m always mixing KULE with pieces I love and have collected over time—both new and old—to give my outfits more personality. I bought this cardigan/jacket hybrid a couple of seasons ago at La Garçonne in Tribeca. And then there’s this Bottega Veneta pouch, which I got at the Rome airport (you can read that little anecdote here). I haven’t put it down since.

Look 2: Superfine
This is our new superfine cashmere-blend knit. I love fine knit sweaters this time of the year because they’re easy to wear into the cooler months. I always have to layer—even when it’s hot out—because my office is a refrigerator. I love the pop of red in this glasses holder against the navy sweater. I got it at Alex Eagle on my last trip to London.

Look 3: The Polo
Polos are definitely a thing right now, and I humbly believe that we have the pièce de résistance. This one is light enough to wear alone or layered. I also love styling sandals with fall transitional clothing, like corduroys or coats. Right now is the shortest window of opportunity, so I take full advantage. It’s my absolute favorite combination. It’s like how I often wear baskets with my winter coats. I’m also wearing one of the new KULE styles I’m most excited about this season: this striped top handle canvas bag. It’s a twist on a classic but with a KULE wink 😉. It also comes in a fun poppy/navy stripe, too. Lastly, these sunglasses were another summer purchase. They’re by Jacques Marie Mage, and if you’re in Milan, you should check out their stunning retail store.

Look 4: Halftime
I’ve been craving a shorter, half-length take on our recent balmacaan jacket that I wore a lot last fall, and so here it is! I have accumulated quite a few trench coats over the years. Some of my favorites are from Michel Kors, Auralee, The Frankie Shop, and, of course, KULE. I find these jackets to be the perfect travel layers. I made ours with a drop shoulder so that you can fit chunky sweaters underneath, which I have found is not always the case with all brands, but is essential for New York layering. And the length of this new style also makes it easier to wear and less cumbersome than a traditional trench. I spoke about this incredible sandal find in a recent Substack; they’re from Sebago. I wore them all summer long, and they’ll be great for early fall (even with a sock!).

I’m excited to see how you all style your new KULE. More to come!
xo,
Nikki

love this so much!!
I could read these forever. Keep them coming! Seeing you marry your Kule pieces with other finds is such a treat.
